Muggeridge: Sweet dreams of Cadwell Park

Karl Muggeridge dug deep this morning in the final free practice session for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in association with Pirelli as he struck into the top ten for the first time this weekend.

The HM Plant Honda rider set the seventh fastest time this morning as the countdown to qualifying continues at Cadwell Park but he admits that after focusing on how he can improve he has been able to reduce his lap time and move closer to the leaders.

Muggeridge comments: "We have definitely made improvements today and it shows.  I really thought about practice last night and just slept on it and was really refreshed for this morning. There is still a lot to learn for sure but I am adapting and with that I am improving everywhere and able to go faster. I think some of the extra speed today is definitely down to me riding better. We have also made some changes so that the HM Plant Honda so that it handles better over the bumps and that has really given me more confidence to push harder. I have done the qualifying knockout before so I know what to expect now so I think that should go ok. We are just going to do the best I can and hopefully we will get the result we need."

Muggas ready to bounce back

Karl Muggeridge wants to bounce back in tomorrow's MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in association with Pirelli races at Cadwell Park after crashing in the Swan Combi 50 - Roll for Pole.

Muggeridge crashed out in qualifying one at Charlies, but was able to pick up the HM Plant Honda and ride back to pitlane to get his spare bike. However determined to make amends for the crash he made a slight mistake with just minutes to go and he tipped off at Barn.

Muggas comments: "I got off to a good start and the HM Plant Honda was working well and I just went in to Charlies a bit too fast and was about half a metre off line and I hit a bump, the front went 'boom' and down I went. I got back on the other bike and was just trying to get back in to some kind of rhythm and I just looked over my shoulder at Barn and when I looked back I was on the white line and down I went. I felt so bad when I went back in the garage as it is a lot of work for the guys. I went back out on the first bike but then the settings were not right and I just had once chance to get it right and that lap I just put pressure on myself and it didn't really work. We have warm up tomorrow morning though to make some more changes and I think we will have a strong race pace so I just need to be ready to fight tomorrow."
